Attack is the term typically used to denote using a weapon to cause damage without using a Professional skill.
Attack calculations
Example:
Weapon | One-Handed |
Basic | Requires: Level 100 |
Provides: 21 physical damage (+21% STR) |
- Any attack with this weapon by a Professional with 50 Strength has the potential to cause up to 31 damage of physical nature ("max")
- The attack as a base accuracy of 42% (2 × indicated bonus)
- It costs 6 endurance (max × 20%) to swing the weapon at maximum
- If the Professional does not have enough endurance, the maximum is reduced by ½ (16 dmg) and base accuracy to 0%
- The Professional's accuracy bonus is added to accuracy at this point
- The weapon swing does a damage randomly between max and max × accuracy (31-13 or 16-0)
- The damage done may be modified by weapon abilities
- If it hit, the enemy loses health based on the damage received, modified by defense rating or any effect that mitigates damage.
Note: Creatures may have a defense rating if they appear particularly armored or in possession of gear-like items.
Weapon modifiers
Any effect that modifies the Potential required by the weapon modifies the effective maximum damage done by it.
Accuracy is a modifier that appears on gear. It improves the weapon accuracy value on the hit: it adds to the base accuracy or the 0-accuracy of an endurance-less hit.
