Skill sphere is the term used to denote the general nature of a Professional skill.

Spheres are comprised of a source:

  1. Personal
  2. Physical (endurance)
  3. Aether
  4. Equipment (gear)
  5. Environment
  6. Opponent
  7. Team

and an application:

  1. Defense
  2. Offense
  3. Support
  4. Control
  5. Utility

Each Profession belongs to a specific skill sphere. When that Profession is active, skills belonging to that sphere may be learned by example or practice.

Adapted Professionals may also learn any skill from the skill sphere of their currently active Profession by equipping a piece of gear with a bonus to that skill.
