Personal history
Anne Gide was awoken when her husband Nicolas Gide, head gardener at the Chateau de Versailles went to investigate the opening of the Great Gates. They both got shanghaied in the depth of the Labyrinth, far from their original divergence, before being rescued and brought into the more mainstream High Tiers civilization of the Labyrinth.
She's one of the High Tier cartographers, Professionals whose lives are devoted to the mapping of the geometries of the Labyrinth, a task where the available resources are dwarfed by the extent of the zones.
